Disgrace in Mercury today

I understand the staff at Mercury are under close scrutiny presently and recently some heads have rolled due to poor customer service. A call or email to MDL in this chap's favour may go down very well.

It would be nice to think they would support their Manager and politely advise the yacht owners concerned to make berth arrangements elsewhere.
A call or an email from those who witnessed this would be a good idea. I'd hate the manager to get his rrrrrs kicked when he was only doing his best to help.

The skipper is in sole charge of the boat. If he is allocated a berth he is not happy with he should say so and request a different one, maybe asking to temporarily moor on the fuel berth until things calm down.
A frequent plea at our club by members going on to their regular berths !
If however he does attempt to moor in a berth which presents problems due to congestion or weather and then cocks it up it was his choice alone..
Suspect your marina manager (and 99.99 % around the world) are well used to embarrassed skippers creeping into the office just before closing and offering cringing apologies. :)

We are all on the same page here, it's a warning to all horrid disrespectful boaters, because as of a few mins ago over 1000 people had read this post and I only put it up on this forum at around 9pm last night, although I must quickly add that I have rarely met or seen rude behaviour, perhaps I have been lucky or most people are actually very nice

Just out of curiosity, what was "dick head" actually ranting about, was the water, the wrong sort, wrong size ripples, incorrect timber used on the pontoons, cleats made of the wrong metal, or the offensive trousers worn by Colin the manager ?? we do NEED TO KNOW these matters to judge on the validity of the rant !!!...... must confess to having "blow a gasket" when mooring with "incorrect" size rain drops on windscreen !!!!
But rarely if ever lack of them ! (I'll get my coat)

I have just moved to Mercury this weekend and could not say, if he is still there next week then we have an answer, he looked silly, middle aged guy with all white sunglasses on, pale blue hull so very distinctive sailing boat about 12m in length

any name on the boat also was it a brand new boat?

Witnessed a blue hulled yacht trying to moor downstream on the ebb today into C36, he got it all wrong and got pinned on the corner, that is not a criticism we have all cocked up at some point including me, however the marina manager spotted from 300 yards away what was going on and runs to the scene to assist , the yacht skipper then swears for a full ten minutes at the Marina manger and blames him!!!, I thought blows would be thrown and a couple of us moved towards the Marina manger to provide back up, only been boating 5 years, worst behaviour I have ever seen, as I type this the dick head is still on the berth

I was there and saw it. Marina chap was going to lose his temper, he had a longer fuse than me. I went over, put my arm round his shoulder and said that that i had witnessed it, and if there was a complaint I would support him. He then calmed and walked away.
The Hanse skipper had a serious personality defect.

Must confess, the first May BH after we got Tringa, I managed to park diagonally down on a half tide across one of the Mercury empty S of the Office outer double berths on a Club rally.

Much to the amusement of my two crew, and a mobo skipper next door, who'd had the same issues a little earlier. Fortunately SWMBO had to work that weekend, so only got regaled third hand in graphic detail. Thank Heavens for cockpit winches and warps:o:o

Deffo 'Stiff upper lip, Cawwthews' time, but nobodies fault but mine:redface-new:- but that into tide empty berth opposite stayed empty all wkend and tormented me:D
Obviously blue hull is ' not a chep', and vip, was he wearing a blue or white ensign, and what anchor did he have????

Ah, just seen Elessar's post, explains a lot, was in PS last week getting some rigging work done, loads of boat valets, not much tide through their pontoons, and lazy lines in the lock too-v. posh- obviously expecting a 'paid hand' to park him up.
BTW, guess who bounced his port bow fender off the lock rising pontoon on the way out of PS Wednesday too:redface-new::)

The Mods should give you a 1 point infraction for cheating the swear filter

Difficult one this. The word he asterisked is not in the swear filter, assuming it was "shit" of course. But it seems that using your own asterisks in place of only some letters instead of using those provided by Time Inc in place of all letters is not approved of.
I got an asbo point for such an action.
