I've got an all-too-rare opportunity to go sailing this weekend, so was looking forward to a view of the waterborne circus that S'butters make their life on Solent out to be. And what has happened?....they've all b***ered off to L Belle France. No gang to yell about colregs, mutter about Blue Ensigns, no squawking parrots... No fisticuffs between BenJenBav owners and the "classic" mob. I'll miss the opportunity for gentlemanly displays of rafting up and short-handed mooring.

It will probably seem a bit tame...

Still a lot of us around the solent. I had a very bracing sail out to Nab and back today - 30 knots of wind over the deck once I was out of the lee of isle of widget. touching 9 knots on the way back with one large slab in the main and 5 rolls in the genoa - bracing but great fun.

Oh! I can start one of those! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif Having been taken for a rather comfortable trip on a AWB (Bav) last week in our intrepid pathfinder foray to Cherbourg, where the Bav quite comfortably took us into a Northerly F7, straight on the nose as we left Cherbourg................it is with some irony that I hear that one off the 'classic' mob turned back yesterday as it was a little bumpy

What a 'Twist' of fate huh! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

A trouble making, stirring, Stinkie
