Hi,
Having only used friends dinghies and hired boats I thought it was about time to purchase my own craft. Does anyone know of any places in Norfolk where I could buy a 2nd hand dinghy, more specificly a Laser? Boat yards, club sales, websites etc?
Thanks,
Ally

Ally08, you could try googling for something in East Anglia. When we got our tender it was through googling dinghies for sale in east anglia and then a small obscure online ad from one of the results.

Though we are near Colchester, bought it off a guy just SW of Norwich.

I sometimes have a good look around Boats and Outboards and just adjust the search parameters for dinghies/laser.

To be honest...theres loads, try wroxham , Horning, Oulton Broad, Stalham, Potter Heigham.

Sorry I can't give you specific business names, but try and get a copy of Anglia Afloat from all good newsagents (and some crap ones) in Norfolk and Suffolk

Bit pricey though!

Blakeney SC have a notice board on the race hut on the carnser with boats for sale.

I sold mine through the freeads (Jumbo) and Brancaster also have a for sale board, aslo the Chandlery/Watersports place at Brancaster Staithe.
Horning sailing club also have a "for Sale" board.

Where do you live?

Sorry BastonJock, I meant where does Ally08 live, as there may be a club/noticebord etc nearby I could point to!

No good giving N Norfolk sailyclub notice boards if living in Cambs!

(actually Grafham and Rutland both have For Sale boards with always a good few dinghys on each!) I bought my cat (Dart 18) Phatcat from Rutland and sailed out of Blakeney with it fo 5 years before buying a boat with a kettle and heating!

My Enterprise came from Kent
My Tasar came from Cambs
My Phantom came from Wells

My god, I get about! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi,
I live near Aylsham (North Norfolk), I've tried the internet and had no success, searched East Anglia etc (eBay)
Looked at the Blakeney Sailing Club website, as that’s probably the area I sail from the most, and couldn’t find a for-sale section, so I’ll probably look out for adverts in shops etc when I’m next over that way!
I’ll definitely try out some of the above suggestions (thanks everyone!) but if you know of any other local N.Norfolk sale boards etc Phatcat1 - that would be really helpful thanks! Though I can’t really travel as far as you do, to Kent etc for pickup!

Hi Ally08, the for sales boards at Brancaster are at the club house and Blakeney is on the race box on the carnser, well worth a trip!

Grafham and Rutland used to have theirs on line!

If you are at Aylsham, take a trip out to Horning SC, as they also have a board!

Hi Ally08,

Welcome to the forum.

A guy in my village (in Norfolk) has a laser for sale, and I have a bigger dinghy that you might be interested in as well. I will dig out the guy's details and pm you.
