Different make Bow&Stern thrusters on dual panel

Hi, I'm currently fitting a side power stern thruster to my Haines 39. The boat is currently fitted with a noble bow thruster with associated control panel at both helms.

I am now trying to see if it is possible to have both the thrusters on a dual panel instead of having to fit a side power panel next to the current Nobel panel,,,, I have the space just won't look very god IMO..

or would it be possible to fit 2 independent after market joystick, one for bow and one for stern and do away with both Nobel and side power panels... maybe mounted on a nice piece of teak to fill the cut outs.

Yeah, I guess they are just switches at the end of the day - unless the thruster has proportional control, of course.
But coming to think of it, I never came across a boat where the thruster controls were not the OEM ones - even in some highly customized dashboards, like Riva or Pershing for instance.
Maybe there's a reason, 'dunno for sure though....

Have done this quite a few times and works ok, only thing to remember is the red wire in the bow thruster plug is what powers the panel so when altering loom that needs 12v + feed. The blue and grey wires are then used to switch port and starboard relays. Quite simple once you draw it out on paper.
 
yes, simple switches to turn back and forth.
There is usually a x sec delay so that you cannot run the thruster the other way once run one way (avoid ripping gears, belts, et al). However, on most thrusters I've seen/read manuals, this happens on the circuit board ON the thruster, NOT on the control panel on the dash. so you should be OK

Just decide IF you are going to have an ON/OFF (ie red wire isolation) switch on the dash and if you want that on both helms (fe I have it only on lower helm and this kills the thruster controls on f/b as well). Other than that, it's just red in the right spot and swapping the other two to get the movement right :D Didn't even bother trying to check wires and stuff, just tried them, if wrong swap cables...

Thanks for the input guys, i was a little worried there was more happening on the panels like Vas mentioned (time delay) which would be done away with if i didn't use the OEM panel, but as mentioned, and as i have just spotted in the manual this happens from the motor side, not on the panel, I just need to confirm the same with the Nobel unit.
