ive never had any trouble filling up 2 x 28 liter plastic fuel tanks with petrol for my boat. The biggest PITA with petrol is finding the stuff when you are sailing.
10 litres is what you can legally fill in a petrol station or carry in a car or store at home without a petroleum licence...
If you're around Tollesbury area you could try the garage at the Causeway Maldon. They sell red diesel at the pump around the side. Don't know what the price is though.
As the last time i had to buy any red diesel was a good few yrs ago and things have changed regarding the duty paid etc etc i was wondering if its worth using "red" still , tollesbury marina have said theirs is £1.18p pl with the 60/40 split , surely i may as well get "white" from a supermarket in that case and pay £1.15p pl and have clubcard points .
??
The silly limits quoted herein for fuel storage don't apply to diesel. Read the link that Vince quoted.
I've just been working this out. Appalled at the the thought of £1.38 a litre in Bradwell, I thought of humping white diesel. But then that is £1.20 here at the moment. I will probably need 15 gallons, say 75 litres by the end of the season. I need to buy a suitable container (25 litres) and trundle backwards and forwards three times and have something to help decant it cleanly. In that way I will save £13.50. Umm I'm not sure I will bother.
Filled up un Beaucette, Guernsey in June this year. Paid around 50p. Scary entrance though for 1st time visit.
Looks useful, but has to be sent from USA? I can't find it on the UK site.
