My existing primary filter looks roughly like this one advertised at £26, yet the replacement filter element alone cost me about £23!! Am I missing something?

You should be able to get them for £12 or less online including postage.

I’ve change mine for the Racor copy, £30 and I’ve checked against actual Racor and identical. O Rings etc no issue.

Did fit genuine filter though

Just checked from some photos, seems mine is a Separ KWA20 with an element ref 20.530. They seem to be around £9 plus VAT and postage, rather less than I paid last year

I fitted a Fuel Guard upstream of the Racor. It has a metal filter that does not need to be replaced.
