Yes we left Holyhead on Saturday evening and headed for Glasson over night. The weather windows were far too short to mess about plodding around.
I sustained some damage on the bow of Little Ship during the storm on Thursday/Friday morning and was really not up to being storm bound in Ireland or IOM. Little Ship is now out of the water and in the shed so that I can have a good look at what needs to be done to repair her. It isn't as bad as I thought but you know how she is cherished and pampered.
Sorry not to get over but the weather forecast was not good and I wanted to get back to my winter berth.
I will however be over in April................ promise! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

PS It's looking like the Straits for me next year!
Lovely boat, a converted sailing lifeboat I believe. I didn't know that was your brother, I spoke with him on a number of occasions when we had our boat at Glasson.

/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Beware of Greeks bearing gifts - he just wants a pass to your bar when the attack whippets are at lunch. look forward to seeing you around the Straits. Still gets windy there & you get very short steep waves in wind over tide conditions in certain places, but not exposed in the way that Holyhead is. I get wet, but you'll have no trouble, you can steer from indoors.
You simply need to realise that Holyhead harbour was built by Railwaymen . . .
Iv'e been warned that I will need a new lock for the bar and some good cleaning equipment for the messy PD scrote who drops things on the deck /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif The Sea Fairing Whippet attack dogs dont seem to deter them any more! I think I'll need another kind of deterrent, I'll ask SWMBO /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Ah Yes! I was also at glasson for a summer break once, with Englander. e has broughtb her back form Corfu, so he can sail again on the west coast and attend the clqassic festivals, around the Irish sea and Scotland, so he'll be around there again for a few years.
