Well we actually did it! Hamble to Poole, no hitches, no stress just sheer enjoyment. decided to anchor up off Studland. Though a little cloudy, it was lovely. Thanks to all for your words of encouragement...how right you all were and a special 'ta' to Mr Dunstable whose video footage gave me that final boost to actually do it. Gotta say I don't know what I was fretting about tbh, it was just totally enjoyable and exactly what we got into boating for in the first place. Maybe, just maybe, that channel crossing wont be too far round the corner for us after all :D. So tempted to carry on to Weymouth and then just keep going to Torquay and beyond!! But hey, best not to push it eh?!!

Well done, Its a great feeling when you first discover what you can do, and you just keep learning ,now you can plan the next step.

hi lisa....REALLY PLEASED FOR YOU.....im glad the video gave you "push to jump" so to speak..ive got a video of "around the island" (IOW)... if your interested PM me and ill send you the link..........im sorry if ive missed it but, what boat do you have??....again congrats etc etc

Urm...did take a few but thought they would be too boring to be of interest tbh. Was waiting with camera at ready in 'sport' mode for a giant sea horse 'at play' but alas...just shore line and a boat or two. Will try harder next time :)

That wasnt you that arrived at Poole Quay boat haven on Friday evening was it? Pontoon C9 (or thereabouts?)
