Anyone know anything about International's Dex 1+2 as an alternative to regular varnish? I'm fed up with blistered washboards, etc. Thanks in advance.

Mick,
I've not used it, but am thinking of using it for this coming season. This is because of the chap on the next boat to mine, who swears by it. Looking at his boat, I could see why. Immaculate varnishing.

Are you referring to Deks Oilje (sp)? I was not aware that it was by Interenational though.
If this is the product that you are interested in then I can help (cos I used it on mu wooded spars a few years ago and they are still great after 2 seasons and 1 winter in the elements)

Not Deks Olje, but an oil based varnish called Dex 1+2, made by International Paints. Regards,

I used it last year on the wooden trim on my dinghy - several coats - went on easily and looked good, but how long it will last I'm not sure.
