I think you have to be realistic about the cost to you in terms of inconvenience versus the cost of loss of gear. For every device you set up you have to dismantle it before sailing and set up again before departure.
Alarms might be good but also might be a terrible pain for neighbors in any form. In some cases you can't blame the neighbors for smashing your boat just to silence an alarm.
I vote for the obviously strong washboards and lock. Remove or hide any really valuable gear. olewill
