Descale toilet

The Lavac moves way more liquid than a Jabsco. One pump of the handle will empty the bowl. It's far easier to keep a clean system simply because far fewer strokes are needed. Over 11 years of intense use on our last boat we only needed to do a clean of the pipework once. We have just converted from Jabsco to Lavac for both loos on the current boat. I was sick of being a sanitation engineer with the crappy (?) Jabsco loos. They don't stand up to intensive use in my experience
Makes sense to have fewer strokes, I seem to remember one with a fairly meaty whale gusher type pump.

We've only lived on our boat for 6-7 months each year between 2010 and 2019. The Jabso units have performed well with no issues. I had a Jabsco on my previous boat for 24 years and it was still fine when I sold it and about 30 years old by then. I've had other boats with Jabsco and no problem there either. I must be more careful than the average user or have just been lucky for about 40 years.

I too have had no problems with Jabsco heads. Very reliable. Current one is 20 years, had a new set of seals at 15 years for preventative maintenance only and have never had a blockage.

I have had long experience with both Lavac and Jabsco toilets, and greatly prefer the Jabsco. It may partly have been that the Michael Henderson pump for the Lavac was relatively inaccessible, being mounted out of sight behind the bulkhead, but the Jabsco is always easily accessed, and simple to maintain.
