Depressing refuel

You did well. Many people have not managed to use their boats at all. Look at it from a glass half full rather than half empty perspective

We're the same Richard, longest journey so far this year was on Sunday morning coming back from the relaunch after a few weeks ashore up at Dartside, we extended the journey to go and at look at the cruise ships anchored in Torbay and still probably only less than 15nm !!. Hope you're all keeping well. Cheers.

All well thanks Andy, I hope all are also and enjoying a bit of Devon.

I haven’t done any long journeys this year because of the pandemic but we have tried to spend a couple of nights on board as often as possible. I agree that we must count our blessings. The fact that we are healthy enough to boat regardless how little is a major victory considering our demographics. But I also know that as a year round boater I mustn’t act smug.

Are you based close to home Richard?

we have our boat at Burton Waters. Only bought it in August, excited about getting out and about when we can?

You manage to rub it in quite frequently all the same ?
It a boat forum .
You live as close to your boat as Bouba ?
So should have had a similar time use age season no ?
Posting pics all wrapped up , covers on , waves crashing etc ?

His Cummins engine just ticks along fine , hows your VP outdrive set stood up this season ?

Just peachy, how is your barge?
It’s been ok , missed its annual AF so it’s needed constant diving to clean it up .
I did the anodes as I have a small bottle + regulator.
Polished best I could , but it’s not same as doing it on scaffolding in a yard .

Not been far because not wanted to go looking for it , the C19 .
Done 45 hrs this season down from 80 last year .
One trip was ( don’t tell Greta Thunburg ) was a huge loop into the Ligurian sea to burn off last winters fuel .
I left it about 2/3 rds so had about 600 L for each engine to get rid of, we just went to Genoa , popped our nose in and turned around and came back .It was flat calm and blazing hot .Just wanted to run them after doing the engine service .

Lost about a month at the start due to the restrictions which equates to about 2 weeks on it .
End of Sept CH placed Liguria on there quarantine list , shortly after the whole of Italy , so lost another week or so at the end .
Would normally keep going until the weather broke etc usually early Oct then pack it in .
Last year we had three sets of guests this year none due to travel restrictions etc .
We had lined up some Swiss friends late Sept , but it got scrubbed as I said ^^ .

As far as maintenance, over and above it’s annual engine service which I do myself .
I had replaced the house batteries, they were ready having done 5/6 seasons with me .

Its gonna get some new exhausts and thermal blankets over the winter .I may do a thread if I can get some decent pics off the guys ?

Just topped off the tanks, probably won't get much more time on board now.

150 litres was all it took, that's for the full year. Super depressing how little use we got this year.
150 litres???? you yachties are always telling us motor boaters how little fuel you use.
