Dear fellow sailors.
We have to move our boat from the south coast to the Argyll toward the end of June, and I am trying to see what the situation is in Ireland if we have to shelter, take on water or refuel.
We have had both doses of Covid Vaccination, and have the form to prove 1. Hopefully the form will be updated before we leave as there is a time lag from vac to updating the online records. And we come from a low risk area (Argyll). Plus will carry lateral flow test kits. PCR within 48 hours is not poss from a 32 ft yacht somewhere in Devon or Pembrokshire or at sea!
Does anyone know what the situation is for yachts.- we expect to be sailing the Irish Sea stretch via Pembrokeshire around 1 July on wards. From what we can tell the Irish will allow UK residents to enter from 1 July with proof of 2 vacs and a neg PCR.
Of course if the wind allows we will sail up the Welsh coast BUT need to factor using the Irish coast route as most protected for West/ SW. We would if poss just anchor off shore and not need shelter, refuel etc and get into N Irish waters as fast as our boat/weather allows us BUT just in case we need to plan our options for Ireland.
Many thanks
Nick
