Last friday I finally took delivery of my new Princess V42. Lucky with the weather or what...sun shines on the righteous haha. Anyway here's a few pics:

At Swanwick, love at first sight, - I guess this is the most pristine she will ever look. Princess have been fantastic.

Yeah I know, gratuitous wake shot but everyone does one so would be rude not to include:

Pleased with self...well who wouldn't be and also to have to wear sunnies in early March

Tide was VERY low. 10 points to whoever can can identify where in the solent this sandbank is..worryingly my brand new Garmin cartography did not even show it as a drying area (unless I misread it which is entirely possible given the general state of high excitement).

Coming back into Poole Harbour. I can't remember a sunset or such still water last summer...funny how some of the best boating days (albeit not warm) can be in winter

I had the Lumishore underwater lights fitted (apols to the "underwater-lights-are-pants" club). Not the best picture but the kids loved it and it brightened the marine right up haha

Roll on the summer...

Jon

Good luck with the new boay, what a toy! I was workng in Poole on Friday, it started off crisp then turned into a great sunny day, shame I as working!.

Was the pic either Bramble or the shingles bank?

Fantastic looking boat , SWMBOs favourite sportscruiser . Can you close up the cockpit nice and snug with canopies ?. Shingles bank is well out of the water at the mo .

WoW very impressed I hope you have many days/weeks/months/years of enjoyment from her, The wake shot looks fantastic and YES indeed I like the Lumishore underwater lights as well (BTW what size and how many did you go for ?)

You leaving her in the UK or abroad ? She does look splendid... CONGRATULATIONS :):):)

waw what a beast, really nice boat,
good to see people buying new boats, you must be proud ! and with good reason :)

why so many small fenders, shouldn't you have slightly bigger ones ?

What a beauty she is....... "Princess rule ok"...... is she staying in the UK, and is she IPS drive, sorry for the questions John. Great choice

One of my favourite boats. Great choice.

Shingles. But it looks like you're seeing them off the starboard bow. Were you taking the Needles channel? I guess you wanted to floor it in a straight line to Poole. :D

Excellent looking boat, I bet you cant wait to take her out again - roll on the summer!

Please note however there are still some berths available in Sant Carles, she would look very nice in our lagoon.........

Thank you all for the kind comments - it really is a dream come true.

ACE - the lights were 3 X-72 colour change units

BartW - now you come to mention it yes they do seem a bit small but were as supplied by Princess.

Renegade - yes she will be based in Poole. I am working on the statistical assumption that after 3 poor summers we must be due a real belter! Yes it's the Volvo joystick system. Great fun - I struggle to imagine what is going on down there as she makes noises that you can't create by using the throttles alone.

Now as to the Sandbank it was neither Bramble or The Shingles. We passed the Shingles sitting proud (see pic below) - I would estimate this bank was approx 0.5miles or so WSW from Shingles - if you drew a line from Needles lighthouse north to shore it would be marginally to the West if I recall correctly. The Garmin cartography worryingly showed it only as an unnamed area of shallow water (1.5m wet!). I don't have my admiralty charts here to see if it is marked. I checked in Solent Hazards and also can't identify it unless it is some westerly extension of the shingles.

Cheers, Jon.

Excellent, wonderful boat, looks like you had a great day, bet you remember it for a long time. I'll remember the boat name, so when we're in Poole we'll keep an eye out for you and claim a free beer!

Congratulations. It looks fantatstic, and I especially like your colour choices. Lumishore lights will be fun in the summer. Wishing you many happy days/nights/miles in her. What tender did you go for?
