Deleting private messages

I need to do this but can't see how. I thought it would be obvious but not to me!!

Go to your settings, select messages- inbox,on right hand side top it tells you how many messages you have, hover over number, drop down menu allows you to delete or move etc.

Or scrol down to Folder controls - right hand side again, drop down menu select which folder, ie inbox or sent, select which to select- empty folderoption is half way along coloured task bar.

In any folder each message has check box on RHS. Check the messages to delete, go to bottom of list, "selected Messages", drop down menu, choose delete.

What Stork says is the way to delete them selectively

Simple really I suppose!! The select box was the one I hadn't 'seen' !!
