According to a forum member this post showed my true colours. So have a read, disect it if you like. put me on ignore or comment however you wish. it was posted several weeks ago on a forum and was met with abuse. its not been changed in any way. it was approved before I posted it. Id like to clarify it was not posted on here.. ill happily post the response to it in due course. Oh I dont think any of it suggested I was trying gain from it in terms of ego or otherwise.
Our Association.
I would very much hope we could all agree the Twister Class Association adds value to owners and indeed those interested in the Twister 28. Not sure if the Association has an ethos but id suspect it might be simply be along the lines of sharing a mutual interest in Twisters and providing a platform to promote activities whilst at the same time maintaining the very high standards of conduct between members.
I see the Association website more than a library. more than a resourse. It is the very epicentre of our Association. Its the place we visit for advice, Its where we share our adventures. Its also the place where would be new members come to be inspired by our own aspirations. We are very lucky to have A Secretary who has worked so hard developing our Association website and promoted the Association. Behind the scenes we have a Treasurer and indeed the editor of our yearly magazine which provides such a good account of members activities. This all forms the basis of a sound association going forward, that I wish to be part of and indeed all of us do.
Currently the Association does not have a Facebook page. Over the last 10 years more and more busineses, and clubs have turned to social media to provide user friendly platforms to enhance their businesses and indeed Associations. These Social media sites can require care and guidance to users to ensure members and users all benefit and that individuals are not treated in any type of disparaging manner.
I have proposed to our Secretary that Our Association set up a Association Facebook Page. Branded in the Association format. Administrated by the Association members, with several admins to ensure impartiality to all. I believe this would provide an impartial platform for our Association. focus traffic to our Association increasing more awareness. This would enhance the current Association website.
I has been suggested we do not need one and dont want one. we should support the excellent independent one. We however have no control over this one. there are no policies in place. The introduction of a new Association facebook page does not prevent any existing ones continuing. no one is made to post on them or new ones. We should have a choice.
In January 2022 we were told we had very few submissions for our magazine. in my opinion this was evidence that awareness and participation in our Association was falling. A post on the independent group helped increase submissions. a bumper newsletter was published.
I would very much like to see a Association social media group page created. Id like to be able to participate in it. it like to see the standards of behaviour between members promoted and see a wider participation of members within the association. overall we should all be able to benefit from membership. This is the very heart of our Association after all.
