Some of you guys might remember I had one of these back in 2007. she was a superb boat and I always regretted selling her but needs musted at the time.
I have known the old girl pictured above for the last 10 years, I finally got round to making her mine in April.
She is in need of a lot of tlc so I think this winter will be a busy one.
The old AD41s purr like kittens still pulling 3900 revs at 30 knots with a clean bum and the drives (rebuilt by Volvo Paul ) are superb but unfortunately both lumps have to come out. I have to replace both exhaust down pipes which cannot be done with them in and have very rusty flywheels that keep gumming up the bendixs on the starters. Got taking the starters out and cleaning them down to 20 mins a side now!
It will be a lot of work but with the thought of getting some serious cruising in next year after a 5 year break will keep me fired up on those frosty winter days in the boat yard.

I was only thinking today what happened to Jessica Dreaming and here is the answer on the same day, well done for buying her I'm sure you will make a great reliable boat out of her, keep us posted on the engineering progress.
Where are you doing the work? Is she still local to us?

Hi Paul and thanks. We have her at Eastbourne for the foreseeable future. I shall be doing the work myself but having Nathan Crewe over seeing it. Cosmetic wise she has scrubbed up very well. I have re- hashed the dash with new nav gear and radar but it is still turquoise. The swmbo loves the colour now she has a new handbag and dress to go with it. Will post more pics later.

Nice one Paul,

The Martinique has def. become a bit of a classic now and still popular. Although they struggle on the hump, the AD41s' I'm told are pretty bullet proof. You could also dry berth her later to keep her bum lovely.

Keep us all posted on the progress.

Thanks Roger. How is that sexy Azi? Hope to see her and you when we come to the Solent next year.

Getting there, she's back in the water today. So I'll know later.

Been a bit of a project with stupid little things all the way so far but should be all lovely by the time Double Vision IX makes it to the Solent.:encouragement:

Roger.

Still no pics of dress and handbag

Could only manage the handbag as she was too shy to pose in the dress

Dash Redo

After a complete rewire behind the dash I have toned down the wood to Mahogany burr and fitted lots of stuff sourced from Ebay and Gumtree. Made the best of the turquoise dash I think.
