Is the only sensible action to bin a fender when the valve starts to leak. It was caused by a heavy stinkie coming alongside in Cherbourg. Having pumped it up has anyone tried putting a patch over the valve or even filling it with silicone? If so details please.

I had leaks earlier this year on some of mine :-

Leak between black end section and centre - covered the leak with 'Nail and Seal' by Evostik.

Valve was loose in fender - pulled it out with a car type valve removing tool and coated it with 'Nail and Seal' pushed it back in and left for a day to cure.

Stuck car type inflation valve - lubricated with silicone grease and replace.

Tired rubber tube type valve - lubricated with silicone grease.

They are all holding air 0k at the moment.

My kids tell me I mend everything with 'Nail and Seal'. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
