Deck Hatch - replacing

+1 for Eagle; I haven't used them either but have heard nothing but good about them.

I had a Lewmar hatch which crazed after about 10 years; beware, when I bought a replacement from the same place as the first - Seateach - the bolt hole spacing was completely different !

Definitely try Eagle first, if really stuck with replacing it, ask a lot of pointed questions about dimensions, bolt spacing etc...

eagle boat windows again.... just doing one tonight.... took the hatch out this morning.

to give you an idea of price my lewmar hatch 510 ish square was £165 delivered.. they provide all the seals / primers / gunk and glass.

I was told recently that Brasso is very good for restoring Lexan; not sure how it will work on acrylic which is much softer of course.

I tried autosol on one of our portlights..hmmmm not good!!
I'd intended on changing them but thought I'd give that a try as I'd 'heard' that it works... old wives tale I believe!

I've just had the glass out of mine and put back in because of a leak. Not too difficult to do. Its only the sealant that holds it in place. I had to cut the existing sealant with a sharp blade to get the glass out. After you get the glass out you can start removing all the old sealant that is the part that took quite a while. I replaced the o-rings on the handles and I masked it off and then rebedded it back in with PU18 polyurethane sealant. So far so good and no leaks.
