You know it makes sense

I can thoroughly recommend the Standard Horizon sets, I have a GX1500, which I bought to replace a dead Nasa set, and it's quality kit for, at the time, about £135
Suggest you look at www.jgtech.com as they have SH radios at very appealling prices!
Bought the new VHF over the counter at Seamark Nunn. Installed and hopefully working but nobody is talking! (Heard one brief transmission on 67, otherwise nada). Now inn getting worried as to whether its working
You could always try a doing a Radio Check with the Coastguard![]()
Do I dare though, that is the question?
Explain that it is a new installation, I'm sure they will be more sympathetic.
That thought did occur to me. What is the "official" position on radio checks though? Do the coasties mind? I know there's a lot of negative posts about them clogging up the airways in the South but I haven't noticed a vast amount of VHF traffic over the weekend so does the occasional radio check call matter?
