Beware that the entrance has silted up significantly. I arrived at a time when I should have had access but the binos showed people walking.....
I reckon its about 2M higher than the chart suggests, if you go the best water is on the far east side of the channel - the transit works for this.
The photo in the Shell Channel pilot shows clear water when the breakwater is significantly dry, we had no access unlil the breakwater was awash.
If I'd arrived a little later when the silt had just covered I would surely had gone aground so I think I was lucky.
Having got in there, the welcome was lacking, and the area around the marina is a ghost town. And the facilities are rubbish.
So go there only if you must and beware the sand on the entrance.
It didn't help that I'd just come from Dieppe, never been there before and it was fabulous. I think I was the only brit boat there - a shame.
Now sat in St Peter port making the most of the free wifi.
