Deacons...........

Do hope Lucas and his wife Kirsty and the yard manager Nick Gill are all still there , they are a great team. They looked after us very well last June with our new (to us) Nimbus. And the enthusiastic lady who runs the little deck cafe there!

Would say a good thing. Any D & R marina I have been to has been good. Suspect some investment needed and some competition on the Hamble is never a bad thing.

Thanks Howard. No serious shortcomings or major investment needed, but will be nice to visit some of the other marinas.

Just seen on motorboat owner and looks like they have kept same management which is good plan, also good that berth holders can now use their other marinas

We have been at Haslar for a long time now and can only echo the positive feedback. Staff work well together and we have seen investment particularly recently with a new breakwater, modernised electrics with internet remote monitoring, refurbished toilet block & so on. Pontoons have always been amongst the best.

Henry :)

I think the new manager at Deacons will be Rachael Foster. She was/is the assistant manager at Haslar. A really nice lady and damned efficient to boot!

I do hope there is an improvement as Deacons bought it Marine Power a long established Yanmar mercruiser dealer that's been in the yard for years, since they took over ther service has been very poor to the extent they don't even answer the phone and there opening hours are 09.30 to 16.30 which for an engineer collecting parts is just plain useless. I hope they up ther game, I'd heard from staff there on the 3rd manager already since the takeover.

Hi Paul. I have not heard any comments about Marine Power. My preference is to use people like yourself who are strongly recommended locally.
There are several businesses in the yard covering a multitude of boaty needs. I have some small repair to the tonneau cover, and will try the repairer on site. They made the cockpit canvass, and this works very well, so no qualms about them. If you have any views + or - on any of the local services I will be keen to hear them.
