De-marinising an engine for a car

I wish to de-marinise a 750Bhp KAD to fit into my VW Golf, what are the steps to follow?

I've been looking to replace the heat exchanger and sea-water oil cooler on Claymore
Would we be able to talk sensibly regarding the fee?

I've got an old morris traveller .. are you interested in the back bit as a extension to Claymore's conservatory?

Bolt the engine down and drive the car into the water. I think this should work.

I suppose it might, are you planning to route the exhaust up through the Sun roof then? Bit like a Freightliner truck?

was actually considering sitting with my head and shoulders through sun roof, bit like a panzer gauleiter!

I once dropped a Seagull Century Plus into my old Rover 105S.
It improved consumption considerably though at the expense of performance to windward, uphill - or any bleedinwhere actually.

The biggest difficulty, especially in traffic, was helming the old girl from the rear seat . . .

As far as I see it the only real problem is to make sure you've allways got enough flexible water hose on a reel (which will probaby have to go on a trailer). If you dip the end of the hose in a river at your departure point and lash it down then you should always have a good flow of coolant water. Obviously you need a length of hose greater than your longest intended journey, and a reel capable of unwinding at 70 mph. about 24000 reels of B&Q value 20m garden hose should be good for 300 miles. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

would have thought it would be good for at least 317mph. Hose idea good for fuel though bollox for cooling water .. will adopt.

There is a Haynes Manual ....

the job axshually qualifies for a 4 & 5 spanner rating. here's the definitions ...

Haynes: Four spanner rating.
Translation: You are seriously considering this aren't you, you pleb!

Haynes: Five spanner rating (expert).
Translation: OK - but don't expect us to ride it afterwards!!!
Translation #2: Don't ever carry your loved ones in it again and don't mention it to your insurance company.

Might highway maintenance get a bit stroppy about prop marks in the tarmac?

Suggest early trials should take place at Santa Pod - in the unlimited nitro class!

Do you intend on keeping it fron twheel drive ?

I can imagine some problems with torque steer or possibly propwalk if keeping the propeller as propulsion.

Also visibility may be hampered although head through the sun roof sounds good.

I think the radiator will need to be upgraded too, possibly to soemthing resembling the size of a barn door. Again a visibility issue here.

What about weight distribution ? Assuming front mounted engine, your gonna need a big weight at the back to counter it ? How about fitting an engine at the back too ?

Failing that you'll need at least 5 people the size of BIGNICK to be with you at all times to ensure good handling

Och nae worries the golf's aleady got power steering .. would'nt worry about cooling cos I'll get there before the engine gets to operating temp.
