Thank you. Yes, sorry: They are both AGM. I have not opened up the VSR yet but as in the diagram the main wire to the domestic load comes out of it. So I suppose that would need to be moved to the non-battery side of the isolator and then I should be good to go.

Yes, the wire from the 40a domestic fuse can go straight to the terminal on the emergency switch. Then you need a wire running from the battery side of each isolator to the VSR.
 
Thanks. For my own understanding, would it not be a concern that you wouldn't be able to isolate the batteries from the VSR in case either of the batteries went? I assume not, but would like to understand why. Thanks.

Can't say i've ever had a problem with the VSR , but, if it concerns you, put a switch in the negative connection to the VSR.
