David and Colros, proposed get together

Brilliant choice of words Barbara.

A little more from David:
David didn’t just love sailing, he loved boats too.
This is an old posting he made on the Classic Boat Forum 5 years ago: Perhaps these words of his convey this better than any I could write.
“I've recently come across one of Maurice Griffiths' old boats - the 1906 Cardnells-built Wild Lone. She's mentioned in several of his books. This historic yacht is now ashore and in very poor condition but just about restorable. I am not commercially interested in her, but would like to draw attention to her plight in case there's anyone out there looking for a restoration project or anyone with ideas on how she could be saved. She's a 28' shoal draft centreboarder and would make a good family cruiser. The current owner would quite like to see her restored also, but has neither the time or the funds to do much about it. He would almost certainly sell for a realistic price - all her gear is there and OK; she last sailed in 1990. Any ideas?”

He'd be pleased to know that Cambridge Won the BOAT RACE!!!

I'm not a great drinker either. I'm now toasting David with a cup of night time tea that he introduced me to many years ago.

Life isn’t a business to be managed, it’s a mystery to be lived.

He sounds like most of us in here , a fun loving and adventurous type with more time for others than himself , I do wonder at the vast quantities of Xmas pud that he took with him though , thought FB pies were the favourite

What are FB pies?

We're having a wonderful singalong, up to Joni Mitchell's California now! And Carey... both from Blue (this dates us all, doesn't it?) Still drinking!

A nice clump of asparagus also consumed in his memory then , afraid it has to be with steak but the asparagus is really nice , pity it wouldn't keep on a long trip though

David's a chocoholic and loved creme eggs so tomorrow we'll be toasting him in those. They weren't available in December or he'd probably have taken a cupboard full of those.
