David and Colros, proposed get together

Thanks for arranging that, Dave - such an excellent idea. I did have a drink with the virtual crowd, but had a real crowd here at the time, and couldn't use the pc.

Love and hugs to all.

Hi Barbara

Tina and Al here!

At 2100hrs on the night in question, we, and six crew aboard our vessel, Kindred Spirit, and the five on Freedom of Hamble, and the eight on Exeat, did in the virtual company of you all get rather sozzled for your David!

I can confirm that there were sore heads the following morn!!

I am so chuffed that Dave and your self have decided to run with Tina's idea of a remembrance day, being the 23rd, Davids birthday, and at the Boat Show an all! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A great read this thread, and fantastic that so many of Davids friends from across the pond were here to share is well, sorry we could not be with you all and post a 'cheers to missing friends toast' But you were all in our thoughts! And I fear in our hangovers the next day to boot!

Nice words BTW Dave!!

Date in diary done!!!

God bless you David where ever you maybe!

Cheers to you all!

Al & Tina.

Thanks for joining us Al, Tina and "The Crews"
"Kindred Spirit" is so aptly named. You really have been kindred spirits to all of us who have sat and waited for news of David. Saturday was a moving occasion for us and I'm sure that all our drinks were salty from tears and how I managed to drink at all with the lump in my throat I'll never know.
It was a great suggestion of Dave's and I'm sure did us all good to celebrate together on line.
Many, many thanks to you all for your help, support and thoughts. I look forward to September 23rd when I hope we can thank everyone in person.

Your not a million miles from the truth with regard to the name!

Tina chose that name for our yacht, and got it on part 1 registry after she lost her brother aged only 35 to a undiagnosed heart condition.

Stewart was a very fit and keen yacht racer and a very talented Shipwright. She sadly had to work on her brother for twenty minutes prior to the emergency services turning up.

Kindred Spirit means alot to us, but the sentiments behind it are universally applicable to all our seafaring friends!!

All the best

Al & Tina. X
