Dartmouth nasty

I also heard that they were liveaboards for most of the year and that the boat's name is Rebel.

Apparently the boat went down very quickly just before 11 on Friday night.

If there was no one on board, I wonder what the boat was doing in the middle river so close to the large ship bouys when it sank.

If it is indeed a concrete boat rather than a plastic one, I can't see it hitting the bouy, being holed and sinking quickly.

There is more to this ????????????

It is Rebel and was moored between the smaller ship buoys, that it why it has not sunk to the bottom., it is hanging by it's lines.

Hmm, hanging by its lines eh? The reason I was surprised at its location is that the harbour authority do not approve of pleasure boats mooring to the ship bouys in the middle of the river. Cruise liners and RN frigates, yes. Yotties, no.

Local rag has story on front page today telling us that the boat did not sink as a result of an accident. Boat is being refloated today (Tuesday) at an estimated cost of £10K according to the harbour master. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Adding salvage to the cost of the damage from sinking and the 1000 litres of diesel which floated up and down the river amounts to a very expensive domestic, but with a large audience to view results.

I'm wondering what the offers will be to buy the remnants.
