Does anybody know the rates for visitor berthing at this marina. I understand they are a bit scary, but given that that Darthaven do not take bookings, it might be my only option in a couple of weeks time.
I find the telephone quite useful for getting information if a company has failed to understand that potential customers need that information before making purchasing decisions.Does anybody know the rates for visitor berthing at this marina. My son's bringing his fiance and he does not want to risk putting her off sailing, so walk ashore, showers and electricity are vital I'm afraid.
Dart Marina is mainly berth-holders only AFAIK. Darthaven will almost certainly be able to accommodate you.
Water taxi is now £1, making the mid-river visitor pontoons very useable. Public showers available in Dartmouth.
You don’t say how long you are, but if 30’ or less you can berth on the Yacht club pontoon (outside DYC on Dartmouth side, which is walk-ashore, showers in DYC).
Or...go upriver to Noss
Or...take a visitors mooring at Dittisham. It’s a delightful place with showers available within a 10min walk. If she doesn’t like it there then she’ll never like being on a boat anywhere.
Enjoy!
Some times you have to raft up on the moorings, We have been on a raft of three. Or Radio Dartnav and ask if one of the private ones are available.I've not had great fortune in getting a Dittisham mooring - and my boat is about the same length as the OP's. Even at midday, they all seem to be used during the summer months. Might just be my misfortune?
They are amazing people and generally quite chilled. Well, this is Devon!I have turned up unannounced twice during regatta weeks. Called up DartNav on channel 11 and they always find somewhere for you to stay. Very helpful chaps who almost never turn someone away.Wonderful harbour and great place to be in that particular week,
