News pictures published today of the Moskva passing under what I assume is the Dardanelles bridge with both anchors a-cockbill. Is this a normal precaution in constricted waters, a requirement of passage or in any way unusual? Maybe even she was preparing to anchor...
Just wondering

It does look like they like their Mediterranean Style mooring even for ships...

You can make out the two chains so it looks like anchors are deployed as well as buoys...

It was certainly RN practice to have a cable party and at least one anchor ready for letting go in pilotage waters. Moskva may have learnt from experience that unless they were veered under power out of the hawse pipe they would not drop when needed.
