My colregs does not cover what happens in the air. So I don't know if a 747 on starboard tack should keep clear of a helicopter or vice versa.

I have wondered that also....in fact they are low flying aircraft...erratic and dangerous.....the e-scooters of the sea

Round here a while back it was the sea cliffs. It didn't end well. There was a good turnout at the funeral.
