A friend has a Sadler34 1.8m draught & wishes to cruise to Plymouth . He has heard rumours that the Dandy Hole anchorage is silting up, is this true & what is the current maximum draught ?

I don't know about the silting issue, but when you find out would you mind reporting back? Its somewhere I was planning to spend a night at some point.

Hello, we pass through Dandy regularly. Anchored there last bank holiday, only a couple of other boats, fire on the beach, beautiful {if cold!} evening. Have not noticed any silting up, though the mud has moved about over the years. A Sadler 34 should be fine in the deep bit which is adjacent to 3 prominent pine trees on the left hand bank as you enter the anchorage. It is a lot quieter than it used to be, 45 boats on an August Bank holiday once! Enjoy. Cheers.

Would it be considered bad form to anchor a 55' boat in there? Swinging room would limit space for other boats.
