Missed the top of the mast with the 'Mast Care'. No criticism please.

Yes, I'm back - for a month! Only by having a bit of a strop at Air France. Don't bother with BA, their Mauritius passengers - well the ones in our Hotel are there until 3rd May!

I intend to make a serious complaint against Air France. On the way to Paris, the pilot (called the Commandant for obvious reasons) announced that the weather in Paris was 'English, cloudy, grey and wet'. On our return to Heathrow we were foiled by a broken ramp and had to stop short, wait an indeterminate time etc for the steps. Commandant emerged from cabin and shrugged his shoulders saying 'What do you expect, we are in England'!!!

Trying now to fit out a wooden boat in half the time that's sensible. Oh for the joys of gliberfast - a wipe over and launch.

SWMBO goes up the mast but not to clean. Apparently that's my task. However, having realised that I am now worth squillions more dead than alive, I do not intend to trust myself to SWMBO's winching. One just should not put too much temptation in front of someone, even an angel.

Oh, I thought you were still sunning yourself!
What's 'Mast Care' when it's at home? I did mine with 'Mer' which made it look a bit better, only to have my berthing landlord re-step the thing using a really grubby bit of rope to hoist it with. So it's even dirtier now than it was before I started.

Wise, oh so wise!

Horizontal lines, Roger? Well it might do something. I bought a container of Mast Care over 10 years ago and so continue to use it. It's a strange sort of thing. It's not supposed to be a cleaner, you are supposed to used Blakes Surface Cleaner first but it does seem to dress up the Mast a bit. The best thing about it is that the sail runs up nicely.
