Damaged propellers

But imagine how damage you will do to your gear box if you crunch one of those

Six of one and half a dozen of the other.?

My outdrives were always bashing the bottom and collecting just about anything that was in the water from assorted plastic sacks, building site netting stuff, old rope of various types, fishing line and those monster bags that sand is delivered in.
Alloy props were constantly being dinged to the extent kept a spare set on board, however easy to lift leg and sort.
So far with props on shaft, you can feel stuff going through but they appear to mince it up and spit it out,did get something "ropy" recently but going violently astern did clear it.

Luckily I have a whopping great keel which prevents the prop from hitting the bottom!

Even when I foolishly went astray in the entrance to Penton Hook, it just churned up a bit of mud.

Then a bit more on full astern.... :p

It helps though!

I'm normally pretty good at knocking the throttle off if I hear something at the bow! It's the stringy stuff that can be an issue though!
