Whats the daftest thing you've seen? I bought a life jacket for a newborn baby today - suitable for babies 5-15kg it says on it - even got a specialy adjustable crotch strap, and well designed with loads of bouyancy by the head to offset the bouyancy of a nappy - really well thought out - oh yeah and its got a whistle! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Now I don't know a great deal about babies - as our first one is arriving shortly, but nothing i've read leads me to believe that the first thing the baby does when falling overboard is to grab the whistle and give it a resounding toot!

5kg Wow that sure is a big 'newborn' - forget the lifejacket and buy that mother a pillow to sit on! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I would have thought a battery voice activated baby alarm from Mothercare fitted will do the job.
You got a name for that floaty thing yet?
