Hi All,

I have 2 problems that i need help with.

We have a pair of D6 DPH drives and the port engine trim pump keeps stopping. If you take the relays out perhaps then spray some WD40 on then they will start tp work again. I have tried switching the relays from the starboard pump and the same happens. Any ideas?

The other issue i have is that the trim indicators read differently. I have tried the calibrating them in the calibration mode but one will say - 9 and the other - 5 even though they are both right down ( i know this as the boat was out of the water)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Sound like the trim sender isn't ranging , does it go to 45 when fully up?

Thanks Volvo Paul.

Im not sure if it went to 45 when i tried the other day but i can check again... what is also off is that the relays keep needing to be taken out and greased and then they work again.

Can trim sender be replaced easily with boat in water?

Yes its down on the port side of the transom shield where the trim cylinder mounting shaft comes through the shield. Its held on with two hex screws, there is a procedure to make sure the sender is in the correct position when you fit it so that it doesn't get damaged. Look down behind the engine and you will see a black square housing with a cable plugged into it, that's the sender, no water comes in if you remove it.
