CV19 restrictions on boat on private mooring

What about going to work? What about going to buy food? What about nurses? No exceptions, eh?

You Know that's covered within the spirit of the guidance.
As is happening in Spain/Italy.

You either asking people to agree with you or you are picking a fight.

I'm doing neither.

Good luck, enjoy the sailing ?⚓

At the moment your being ask to do stuff it wont be long before your being told to do it .

Guys here the problem with I'm doing no harm going to my boat . just take a look at these people in their caravan , they thinking the same , what do you have now , people all over the high lands from God knows where who may have the virus .
There maybe self isolating to day , to morrow their will be in your local bakery .

No.
I can't be @rsed. I'm enjoying myself in the garden with family.

Enjoy your traveling and sailing. Good luck ??⚓?

Where did I say I was sailing? I'm not currently near my boat and it's in a marina so I won't be visiting it for some time. The question wasn't about me it was about sarabande who is suggesting neither additional travel nor social contact.

I never mean to be disrespectful , nor cause an argument for the sake of it but there are silly posts on here ,
A. I have been in self isolation for 2 weeks now I do not have the virus so I cannot spreads it to the known world
B, how the monkeys do people cross the worlds oceans 31 days for the pacific in some cases ,
C, locals coming over to visit me , what a load of toss were not in the Pacific islands I have never in all my sailing had a local row over to my boat
D, Without being rude a camper-van and a boat are comparing apples and oranges
E. Im at and I do not put my life at risk easily , but neither do I panic and not take precautions
F. So I cannot effect others I will keep away from others I still fail to see the problem
G. Again I will reiterate the law of statistical analysis would predict going about my weekly routine of the house, need to go shopping , need to take dogs out were other dog walkers are and need to get medication every month I will likely catch the virus then

Am I missing something really important ,outwith others fears and panic , is this virus hydrophilic o_O

Here in Spain, no boats leave or enter any port or marina.
Common areas are prohibited to use, as is sitting on park benches etc.
The only accepted movement is 1 person leaves the residence, goes to the pharmacy, food shop or hospital.
then its straight home.

......
So, a) prove that the incubation period is never more than 2 weeks
b) prove your isolation has been adequate. No airborne virus, no virus brought in on your mail, food, whatever

Being a bit of a hermit at home for a fortnight simply does not cut it. Even in the wilds of Scotland.

Government advice is 7 days isolation based on the facts as we have them , one cannot just pick the guidelines ones suits for their argument
Airborne does not sit around the air you have no idea what airborne virus means for you to get an airborne infection like the flu you need to be with 2 metres hence why the 2 metre rule. the vast majority of infections come from touching and then touching your mouth nose or eyes , seriously do people not get this yet , that is why it is pointless walking about the street with a mask the virus is not floating about you all the time , read some facts get he information needed and make decisions based on facts good grief.
I have also never caught a cold, flu virus . from my mail but there is always that 0.01% that I do

I plan to do non of those I plan to go sailing in isolation, I appreciate that most on here like to sail and be social they will sail from one pontoon to another and anchor on mass , I am different I go out to be in solitude , I am an Aspie I have no need for companionship I have survived my life without much and that is how I like it , so I will be flying the plague flag on my boat and therefore you know not to approach me how does that one suit everyone

I am glad you now recognize that the rules do not apply equally to everybody, but reflect individual needs and priorities.

I'm enjoying myself in the garden with family.

Same here, even though my city friends with shared gardens can't do that. Good job you and I can bend the rules a bit, eh?

Some people react very strangely to rules of any sort and develop a fanatical insistence that everyone - by which they usually mean "everyone else" - should stick to the letter of them, even when it makes no sense. I put it down to a form of Stockholm Syndrome developed at schools with draconian uniform codes.

A long conversation today with my son, who lives in Hong Kong and is employed by a major corporation as a "China expert" (used to be just political and economic).
He confirms that the draconian closures of most major cities over the past two months do seem to have contained the spread of the virus there. Most recent new infections have been people returning from Europe or America. In his opinion they now have a crucial three weeks ahead, as movement restrictions are being lifted. Big question is whether the rate of infection will now pick up again and , if so, how fast.
From Hong Kong, they are watching with interest whether our half-hearted restrictions will slow the rate of infection enough to keep hospitals operating, but don't expect it to work.

On another thread, someone was whining about caravanners coming to their parish.
The fact that your caravan floats makes no difference.
Pretty well every caravan site in the U.K. is shut from today. There’s a lot of friction about it on the Caravan Club Facebook page, some reacting badly, while most have been lobbying the Clubs to shut sites for some time. Finally they bent to the pressure.

They may be a bit embarrassed, but if they rally thought they'd be alone they have nothing to be ashamed about, because going out of doors on your own (or in your quarantine group) is absolutely fine.

I drove up the Clyde coast from near Irvine to Wemyss Bay yesterday and there wre lots of people walking singly or in pairs on in what looked like family groups. No larger groups, no cafes or restaurants open. No problem and if it helps people deal with the stresses of isolation, a good thing.
Do many caravanners hook up, go for a drive and then come back home again?

They have been today, having arrived at the site of their choice to be told they are closed and to return home?

We are planing to self isolate on our boat. We should be 100% self sufficient and can carry 12 months of food, if we can get it. We would rather be on the boat than stuck in a two room flat.

Is there anyone here who can explain why every government thinks we can develop a vaccine for this RNA virus when no one has been able to do it for AIDS which is also an RNA virus?
If you could tell me where you are going to get a years worth of food at the moment, I’ll join you in the queue.

On a boat a fishing rod in the right location can do the trick. Add some kelp (of the proper type) to that for vegtables and you can survive. Water comes from rain or evaporated sea water. Scotland and rain is a pretty good combination. If you think survival scratch the idea of a store to help you out. There is plenty survival info available on the internet for all sorts of environments. An be prepared to lose a few pounds of weight. It's not a luxury cruise.

Yerp, I think there may be a little of the out-Herod Herod ideas about.

If most folk act with common sense, in the spirit of the rules, all will be as well as might be. For sure, if we imagine families can box themselves into a small, high rise, inner city flats for weeks on end, we will have more than Coronavirus to worry us.
