we bought a boat some time ago,it used to have half round doorways top and bottom someone cut these out and made them square.where can we buy some half rounds or quarter sections or how can we make these.

I've never seen mouldings of a great enough radius to make the top and bottom of a doorway - I presume you mean the aperture through the bulkhead? I have a similar raw edge on the ply cover for the anchor locker moulding and have been mulling it over.

I am considering bending and gluing a strip along the edge either side and after truing it up, bending and gluing a third strip across the assembly. The only trouble is that I don't think I'll be able to run the router around it in situ to get a nice shaped finish. The other option is to laminate the whole thing on a jig and then rout it before fitting.

I've been looking at suppliers such as KJ Howells, found on-line by Googling "teak mouldings", but I've only just started searching in earnest.

Rob.
