If they are that good , why do they need a parts manual , and a drawing showing low oil, when they never use any.It will outlast the world’s supply of crude oil
Oil was coming out the top…it was either a bad thing (oil from the sump passing the piston rings…for example)…or…it’s from over filling during the recent service…which is why I am monitoring the situationIf they are that good , why do they need a parts manual , and a drawing showing low oil, when they never use any.

You are bringing back suppressed memoriesI seem to remember this monitoring lark for the fuel tank
So much quicker to forget the monitoring and just take the engine out....

Then I could have emptied the leaking tank and sealed it up…and supply both engines with the remaining tankCan you imagine if he had twin engines and twin tanks.
From sbmar.com …. “In the case of the Cummins “B”, this engine is very susceptible to an overfill of the crank case w/ oil and on an “inline drive” the problem gets amplified as the rise of the bow during operation exaggerates the build up of oil in the rear of the oil pan, causing “whipping” of the oil. This has a tendency to push the oil out the rear breather in some cases. The same engine turned around in a V-Drive install may not show this problem.” Crankcase VentilationOil was coming out the top…it was either a bad thing (oil from the sump passing the piston rings…for example)…or…it’s from over filling during the recent service…which is why I am monitoring the situation

Now that most oil is sucked out of sumps...into old oil containers that are opaque ....I wonder if people examine the oil as closely as when we used bowls@Jerbro we don’t need actual facts and genuine help on this thread.
