Cumins onan 4kw generator dipstick problem

the dipstick on my 4kw onan genset is very difficult to put back in,
has anyone else had the same issue ?

Yes - Had a 4kw on the previous boat, and a 6 on this one - both have been a fiddle, and I've never found a solution. Sorry no help at all!

Very difficult to get back in, I turn the dipstick slowly as pushing gently back in.

You also need to inspect the dipstick tube regularly as this splits with age.
