Any coments on the performance of International Cruiser Uno Anti Fouling paint, particularly in the Portsmouth Hr area, would be very much appreciated. many thanks.
Not Portsmouth, but in the River Crouch, East Coast, it was not as good as Flag or Blakes Tiger, and seemed to wear quick.
It certainly wasn't 'Uno', as \i put on 2 coats over the season I used it.
I've used it successfully for a number of years on both long keel and more recently on a modern, fin. Several locations around north Wales. No problems. I usually dive mid season with a yard brush to clean away the "dust" layer. Quick jet wash when she's lifted at the end of the season and she's pretty much ready for the next coat. Would recommend it based upon my experience.
I used Cruiser Uno (blue) for the first time this year, on a boat moored at Portchester.
It seemed to do a better job than the red Blakes Tiger that I used last year. There was some slime towards the end of the season, but no barnacles at all!
It did however wear quite thin in places, when I scrubbed the slime off I could see the old colour underneath.
I changed to Cruiser Uno last year and the results were as good as the Micron Extra I had used in previous years. At a colossal saving (particularly due to Luke at Fareham- whatever his chandlery is called) I reckon it was worth it. Although I scrubbed late on in the season, it wasn't that bad and no worse than I have seen on our boat on the same mooring.
I'm moored near Hardway so in pretty much the same water as you.
I've already bought this years supply ready for the annual ritual!
Piddy: It's Luke's deal that caused me to pose the question! My previous source of well priced Seajet Shogun is no more so I either change, or pay a lot more! Do you use just the one coat of Uno all over?
Have you asked luke to get you any seajet ? he's normally willing to get anything in at a sensible price. he ordered some paint for me a few month's ago which he doesn't normally stock.
You could also try vitesse marine in fareham. at a guess lukes paint may well come from these guys as it took only half a day to get my order in /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have dealing's with them in the past but like to give luke my business.
