Getting withdrawal symptoms - no updates on the slipper launch for over a month.:(

Any progress recently?

Any pictures of the modified outboard?

Paul

I'm still waiting on the outboard . Untill we know if it works i cant finish the hull . The shape of the hull is dictated by the power source .

Bleurgh! Historically accurate maybe, but a nightmare to maintain and get parts for; better off with a later Watermota or similar. I may know where to lay my hands on a Ford Kent based Watermota with gearbox if that's of interest; it came out of an old launch that was being wisked off somewhere for a no-expense-spared resto, presumably to be replaced with a diesel or a period Vedette or Graymarine.

The little 'Sea Tiger' which was either a 1.2/1.5 Pre-Crossflow, or 1.6 Crossflow (Mk1 and II Cortina lumps) were champion little engines, pretty sweet and loads of power.

The 1600 was around 63hp, but a twin choke Weber would boost that to around 80hp.

Gearboxes by Watermota were good, but required a bit of care with brake bands and correct oil.
