CT1 adhesive sealant??

I used ct1 to seal around the brass neck of my fuel tank filler where it appears through the deck. after around 6 months there seemed to be some reaction, whether due to contact with the metal or diesel I don't know, but the sealant went all sticky and started to disintegrate

How would this be for fixing my headlining? No fumes and looks like it will cope with the moisture.

Any thoughts?

I did mine with CT1, only about a Year ago but still holding fast. As is the through hull fitting that's sealed with it

Ok so this is an old post but thought I would add some info, Last year (2010) I used CT1 to seal around a new bolt on the rudder stock, this year I replaced the bush and the other 2 bolts, when i removed the bolt sealed with CT1 the sealant was still in place, flexible and had kept water out. The best bit though was that I am still using the same tube!

3 years on and the CT1 is still holding and water tight.

Our local chandler is promoting this product http://www.ctecuk.co.uk/ct1_info.pdf as a possible replacement for Sikaflex in marine applications. Has anyone ever heard of it / used it? Main features of interest are a) can be used in wet conditions or even underwater b) supposedly has a lot longer usable life once opened (though it doesn't claim that on the data sheet). Costs about £10 per cartridge. Wouldn't mind giving it a try to seal around a wooden coaming, but has anyone any experience of it??

CT1 or tek7. Both polymers and work in the wet. They are the same... Sick a flecks does not work in damp conditions, is expensive, messy, and oh yes really expensive. Tek7 is available in builders merchants everywhere for £8 to £10 a tube, it doesn't go off when opened, is a sealant and adhesive, and oh yeah... ...it works in damp conditions and even underwater, is salt water resistant to.

So, by sicka flecks for a lot a dosh from your local swindlers, or buy the cheaper and more effective tek7 from a builders merchants and save money and do a better job?

Your choice...
