We're hoping to spend some time in Ireland on the west coast a couple of years from now and wanted to ask are there any good guides/blogs/youtube channels to follow to try and learn more of places to visit ?

Not strictly a pilot book, but I recently finished The Summer Isles, by Philip Marsden, he sails Cornwall to Ireland, goes from South to the North along the western coast of Ireland, visiting virtually every island out there and finally crosses to Scotland Western Isles. He is the very definition of knowledge and makes everything he has to say interesting. For background to your intended cruise you could do no better.

Fantastic book, if not quite a guide in the manner of Hamish Haswell Smith's 'The Scottish Islands'.

In a similar vein, The Frayed Atlantic Edge is a superb read too.
