We vaguely thinking of crossing to to the Republic of Ireland this summer. Anyone done this recently who can supply up to date info?

We went there a couple of years ago and it was lovely. Cutting the final ties with the EU may have changed things somewhat.

I can think of passport, Vaccination certificate, insurance as essential. Anything else ?

Thanks in advance

Mike

Given the frequency of rule changes, better to wait until nearer the date and then look for the Irish Covid rules for visitors. The quarantine a vaccination/test rules are not connected with the EU but set by the Irish government.
For your boat, standard stuff, registration document, insurance VHF certificate, for you and crew passports (no time restrictions as the CTA is still in operation) and EHIC/GHIC

You'll find the requirements on our government websites...but I imagine if you want to stick to the rules you'll be waiting until late in the autumn or even next year...

There are issues with pets and customs if coming directly from GB. to Ireland.

AFAIK. Effectively it's not possible to bring a pet from GB to Ireland on a yacht now...

We crossed to Wicklow a couple of years ago arriving early morning. No one about and no formalities at all. We asked a dog walker later where the harbour master was and were told her probably be there later - which he was. Not interested in seeing our papers or collecting harbour dues.
