Cruising Almanac or Reeds

I alternate them! The big advantage of Reeds is that it has a list of buoyage which makes it easy to correct out of date charts! The CA almanac is easier to store and has passage notes alongside the harbours rather than at the front of a section which is irritating. There is more detail in Reeds but the CA almanac has all you need and the info ms easier to find. Both issue corrections. 2012 I bought Reeds, 2013 CA Almanac. I will keep Reeds until I purchase the next one for 2014.

What is the wisdom of whether I continue getting a copy of Reeds for next year or would the Cruising Almanac be better?

+ 1 for Bloc, but I also have Reeds.

What's really interesting is that Reeds tide tables can differ up to 1.5 hrs from local French harbour notices (yes, I've taken local time differences into account). So I've started using HW and LW times from the ports I visit rather than Reeds. I just call ahead and get them if they aren't downloadable from the net.

I'm on a mission to find out why.

Bloc actually has charts of the complete French coastline that are accurate for navigation instead of the disclaimers by reeds that it's not to be relied on for navigation purposes!!
