Yes the Baltic whatf is still operating. Indeed thre was a timber cargo being unloaded on the weekend. The bouyage is for them and should be covered by Light Dues.

A friend of mine was on the CHA board for a while. The CHA only bought a pilot cutter on account of the RSPB vanity project. Before that they never had any pilots. Now the vanity project has ground to a halt and there are no more barges bringing in material, there is once again, no need for any pilots. And during the life of the project, the ships quicly acquired a pilots excemption so the effective life of the pilots was very short.

Meanwhile the pilot cutter sits in Burnham Marina racking up berthing fees and maintanence costs.
