Anyone able to advise on buying some non slip melamine for using in the cockpit whilst underway? I've seen some stuff (galleyware) in the states.
Thanks for taking the time to to be interested!

I have just bought a set of stuff from Galleyware in the States. Rather expensive after adding VAT and import duty, but looks the dogs dangles and should work (ie not slip) effectively. I couldn't find a UK importer or any other UK product as good, but they must exist.
PS Galleyware is inevitably made in China.

Googling around doesn't find anything exactly like the US product. Alternatives you might consider would be to use non-slip place mats, which are likely to be more effective than the four little feet on plates, or maybe a non-slip tray? I use both products and find them most effective.

Rob.

If it's just cheap, but practical, melaware picnic stuff, go to your nearest B&M (they took over some of the dead Woollies stores). Very cheap & cheerful & just as good as the stuff at 10x the price in chandlers or Caravan suppliers.

For non-slipability, get a couple of the mats from Poundstretcher (£1 the pair). The whole set up will be a fraction of the cost of importing US stuff & just as effective.

wide bottom non slip porcelain

Does anyone think a range or porcelain non tip non slip crockery would suit the yachters out there.
I was recently asked by a guy who works on board ship to make him a special mug..with a wide base like they did in the 17th century. I did and he was delighted.
SO my question..is there a market for this, I am a porcelain potter and can produce designs for on board that can even be personalised?
what say you all?
