Croatia Marinas

Yes indeed, Bart has vast experience in this area over many years, but @MapisM also had his previous boat moored at Hvar island and surrounds for ten years, all very close to Split and the local airport.
The Split marinas may suit those looking for a more busy, tourist centric location, but I’m sure there are plenty of other options.

We have our boat in Biograd na Moru, nice little town and conveniently placed marina. Closest airport is Zadar but you could also go to Split. One thing to be aware of, Croatia hits you with a few taxes and fees. There is a light and bouys tax, a sojourn (hotel) tax for each person on the boat and the number of nights and a daily fee for going into the national parks. You also need to use a local Croatian insurer for one part of the insurance cover.

Yes indeed, I have heard of the massive tax charges the Croatian government applies to any cruising boats, some blatantly dishonest with video evidence on social media sites. Disappointing as it is a stunning cruising ground.

I spent a week there in October last year on a charter. The islands are stunning and there is a lot to see / do.

There are a TON of charter boats though (I was one of them). Marina slots were relatively easy, but, this was the end of the season. I don;t have experience of said marinas in high season...

Would I go back? - In a heartbeat. I loved the islands and Split.

Thanks for the reply , we had similar tax in Majorca , lighthouse tax etc. Any idea what this amounts too? Also how far is the airport from the marina ?
Cheers
