Bought one of these last week for electric cables but could it also be used for ferrules on rigging?

I don't think that you'd be able to exert enough force with this tool to crimp rigging ferrules onto steel wires. At least, not if you want your mast to stay up /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif The usual tool I've seen used is a hand pumped or powered hydraulic press.

No.

Rigging crimping is done with a roll swaging machine as the length of the swage is much longer than the crimp of an electrical cable.
