Crewing in Majorca

My son is currently in Majorca on a climbing holiday but keen to crew for a day or so on a yacht. Anyone able to help? He is has powerboat and dinghy qualifications but keen to do more sailing whilst out there. What is the best way for him to achieve this in a short period of time?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Dockwalk and frequent the right bars for skippers in Palma ? He might get some boat cleaning jobs which would gain him local contacts ?

In Palma Lots of activity goes on just inland of la longa (marina) loads of bars etc where much of the social activity goes on. There is Rcnp but on short notice without contacts not sure how much luck he would have.
In north of the island Pollenca is very Brit there is regular dinghy sailing and beach cats some of which is commercial rather than Club based though as is often the case here

On a related note, we are out in Majorca in May and I would like to hire/charter a yacht for a day or two (without a skipper) . Looking at various websites there seems to be a minimum 7 day hire clause? Can anyone recommend a company that might accommodate a shorter duration? I have an ICC.

Only chance I believe is via private advertisers in sites like click and boat and not for relatively new boats. Or I would ask the agents directly as they would know. I mean asking the generic info email at sites like globesailor or nautal. They are helpful. But I never chartered in May so I'm not sure you need to look around. Keep in mind some charterers in the med ask for specific RYA title rather than ICC but I believe it depends on the boats. Hope it helps.

The challenge for the crew is one add gets 20 replies in about an hour and you take the most experienced !

The cv need to be very short and to the point ( you have too many to read ) and stand out.
